About Kola, The

Kola, a Purebred was taken in by Margaret Ann Pratcher from United States.
Here's how Margaret Ann Pratcher describes Kola :
A small breed shihtzu that is brindle and white in color. affecionate, playful, likes a lot of attention with a child like personality and sometimes very hard headed.
Does Kola 's behavior show the inherent characteristics?
I am not sure
Special Achievement of Kola :
I found kola at the animal shelter, she was a god send to me at my request to god. here is the story. i had a dog that looked actually like her that was given to me. i had her for three years. have her original papers showing she was born on dec 10. when i got her she was 7 years old, and on dec. 12th of 2006 i had to put her to sleep 2 days after her birthday making her 10 years old. for months i cried asking out loud! "god please send me another dog like the one i had" so i go over to the animal shelter looking for one months later and did not find what i wanted. i came home and as the months continued to pass i kept asking,, "god please send me another dog like the one i had." on october 21st 2007 i went to sleep with the thought of my dog heavier on my mind. i woke up between 7and 8 am with this strong desire to go back over to the animal shelter. i just rolled over and went back to sleep. i got up about 11am still with that desire to go to the animal shelter again, anyway i ended up at the shelter around 1:30 pm and went directly to the small dog area and as soon as i opend the door there she was,,my dog!. i was stunned,i just stood there for a moment and she saw me and reacted as thogh she knew me. i approached her cage with her paper work that stated she had just come in as a stray at 7:37 am that morning. i snatched that paper down and went to the front desk telling them i wanted my dog. they thought i was the owner by my excitement, so i had to calm down and slowly explain that i had a dog that looks just like her and i want her, same color , breed everything exactly the same, so the lady said well she just came in this morning and has not been check out,and we have to wait 3 days for the rightful owner to come and claim, and if no one claims her you have to put up a deposit and we will get her all checked out and she is yours. i can do that, i said. how much do i have to pay after the deposit and how much is the deposit? $25. that is all, and because we are running an october special its normally $50 but you get her half price. i was over there every day visiting her so if i got her she would feel comfortable with me when i got her. six days later they called me to come and get her. i already had food and water setup in my utility room for her. when she entered my home she immediately ran to that room like she had been there before and started eating the food. i was baffeled. a week later i took her to the vet to get her checked out. i asked how old did they think she was and she said about a year and half if that old. we can tell by their teeth. i got to thinking,,,,if this is true, she was being born around the same time i put the other dog to sleep. so that was god waking me up that morning wanting me to get up and go get my dog i had been asking him for, that he was answering my prayer. i named her kola after the other kola and gave her the birthady of dec 10 as well. i use to say to the other kola ,i wish i knew you when you were much younger or just a puppy. so god took my dog away from me and gave her back to me at a younger age. and the older she get the more i can see her personally is becoming more like the other kola. in my heart i belive she is the same dog. and this is really a true story, and i just praise god and thank him all the time.

About Konan, The

Konan, a Purebred was adopted by Dagmar from Italy.
Here's how Dagmar describes Konan :
He is very affectionate ----we call him the boss --- he is always very happy to see us when we come home ---he comes to wake us up in the morning ---when he needs to go outside ---he isn't overly courageous---doesn't trust anything new at first ---he pays attention when you talk to him ----and turns his head when he recognizes a word ---he hardly barks usually for a reason for eg. if something is where it shouldn't be or if there is something new that he hasn't seen before ---he thinks to help when we clean the house by taking the carpets out to be shook or grabing a rag to clean up ---the house is empty when he isn't around ---he likes to watch tv----enjoys going for walks ---
Does Konan 's behavior show the inherent characteristics?
He is very serious when he goes for walks --some people are afraid of him even though he doesn't bark or growl at them --he observes them attentively---he wrinkles his forhead ----he doesn't like strangers to make a fuss over him ---he has to decide whether or not he likes them ---he won't accept cookies from strangers ---i am always careful when children are around --beause when he was a puppy a child hurt him and i think he still remembers it --also being very muscular i wouldn't want something to happen ---bumping into a child --he could easily knock it down---he is very protective ---if he hears someone screaming or shouting he has to check it out ---he is very sensitive --- and understands if you are annoyed with him for some reason and easily becomes offended --i don't know much about his breed's characteristics as it is very difficult to get much information about it ---
Dagmar's advice on what type of family should adopt a :
I'd recommend him to any family that has time to dedicate to this type of dog --- he needs alot of attention ---in return is very loyal --- he would do anything to please his owner ---and is a great family dog ---you must be physically strong ---and you must train him for obbiedience ---

No matter what is going on in your lfe be it good or bad your dog will be there with you through it all. if you own a dog to put in your yard and say you own it. be kind and find it a good home that will make it a part of the family. your dog will find a way to thank you, for it.
Sherry Hicks's advice on what type of family should adopt a :
A family that is going to commit themselve's to adding another addition to thair fammaly. train it so the puppy will behave like the good boy or girl, they are. if you are not willing to make a commitment for a life time. then dont buy a dog. dogs are like kids they get into things. i support creat traing 100% make sure the dog ha acsess to water and food and all times. it is unrealistic to think a puppy 6 weeks to 12 weeks to not have a accedentin 8 to 10 hours. most of all this is a member of oyur family for the next 12 to 20 years.

About Tubbs, The

Tubbs, a Purebred was adopted by Larry Jacobellis from United States.
Here's how Larry Jacobellis describes Tubbs :
There are so many things i want to say about Tubbs. he is a gentle soul full of love. they say all a pug wants to do is give love unconditionally and that his only request is that you reciprocate that that unconditional love. that is Tubbs. he has a terrific sense of humor and is an absolute joy. he is extremely playful and energetic. he always grrets you at night after coming home from day's work making you feel like the most important person in the world as he is always excited to greet you. Tubbs is a very special companion and i feel truly blessed to say that i know him.
Does Tubbs 's behavior show the inherent characteristics?
Tubbs as i have said has a gentle soul. the great thing about pugs in general is that you could put 100 pug owners in a room and they would all tell you that their pug is the greatest dog in the world and the love of their life and all 100 would be right. pugs are the gentlest and kindest breed going and Tubbs is all of that. i have read that pugs are the most even tempered breed of them all and i believe it.
Special Achievement of Tubbs :
I have already said plenty about what a special dog the Tubbster is. i am sure others have similar feelings about their dogs. ther is something special about a pug. they have a small body with a huge heart full of love.
Larry Jacobellis's advice on what type of family should adopt a :
Pugs love children and their isn't a better dog to have for a family especially with young children. as i say that the puig makes for a wonderful companion for anyone.

About Molly, The

Molly, a Purebred was adopted by Jill Speechley from Australia.
Here's how Jill Speechley describes Molly :
Molly is a happy, energetic but well behaved labrador that just lives to go out horse riding with me. she is a true water dog.
Does Molly 's behavior show the inherent characteristics?
Molly is your true water dog and just loves to swim in every dam and puddle no matter what the weather is like. she is exactly what a labrador is supposed to be. she loves water, loves people and other dogs. she is happy to sleep all day but is ready for action when she sees me in my riding clothes or getting ready to go out for a walk. there is no chance of going riding or walking with out her. she is very intelligent and was very easy to obedience train. she is the only dog i've ever owned that wants to be bathed and is ready to hop up into her hydro bath the minute i give the command. she is also very food motivated like all true labradors!!!
Special Achievement of Molly :
Molly has learn't a few little tricks at doggy school. she can sit up and beg, shake hands, speak on command and will sit and wait for the command to eat her food. she has just started to learn how to bow. this dog will do anything for food treats!!!
Jill Speechley's advice on what type of family should adopt a :
I think that labradors are well suited for a family with children. they are happy dogs that love to play even when they get older. they are also dogs that like a lot of attention and mental stimulation. they can get bored and destructive if left alone for long periods of time with out things to keep them occupied. they are great for doing obedience training.
