Country of Origin, History of Samoyeds
The Samoyed is one of the oldest dog breeds from the spitz or northern dog group. They originate from Siberia.
They were used for hunting, herding reindeer, guarding and sledding for the Samoyede tribes in Siberia and so the name was Samoyed. They have descended from Nenets herding dogs that may be white or any other color.
