About Biewer

Country of Origin, History of Biewers

Biewers get their name from Mr. and Mrs. Biewer, of Germany. In Jan, 1984 they first spotted a tri-color female puppy amongst a new born litter from their show champion Yorkies. This puppy, with the traditional Yorkie colors, had white color too. Her birth marked the beginning of the Biewer Terrier breed.

Initially they were called "German Yorkshire Terrier". They stated gaining popularity in Germany from 1986.

The first Biewer was shown in the US in 2003. Finally AKC accepted the Biewer breed in early 2021.
